Solar Energy

We use solar energy every day; in fact man has always used solar energy beginning in ancient times when it was harnessed for a variety of uses. For instance I used the sun to thaw out a garden hose. This may seem simple but it is a great visual for the definition of solar energy which is how radiant heat and light affect the earth’s seasons, climates and indeed maintains life.

There is passive solar energy, for instance solariums on the equator side are popular on buildings to draw in heat when it’s cold and cool the air in summer months. Also, passive solar is non mechanical where active solar is connected to specific equipment to produce solar energy.

Solar EnergyHere is a great example of a benefit from solar energy; indoor plants that are placed in a solarium environment do more than fill space and look pretty. They actually improve health, it is a scientific fact! Plants reduce stress and instill a sense of well being.

Solar energy also supports other forms of renewable energy; water, wind, hydroelectricity to name a few.

As business and industry come on board with new technologies to harness this limitless resource look for more buildings, (commercial and residential) to have renewable energy as an integral part of its infrastructure and as a selling point for earth friendly living
