It’s a beautiful day the sun is shining and you smile as you open the shades to greet the day. Then you hear the weather report; the temperatures are supposed to get up there as in “fry an egg on the cement hot” swell. You run around your home quickly closing all the shades you just opened so the heat doesn’t make your house a sauna and your dog that was following you with tail wagging and leash in tow has put on sunglasses and is sitting in his water bowl panting. Wait! There is hope
Solar screens are becoming a viable alternative to the traditional shade or curtain in both residential and commercial sectors. Solar screens keep the heat out in the summer, while preventing heat loss in the winter. They reduce glare which prevents fading of furniture and floors. Also, household appliances like the refrigerator stay cool and don’t use unnecessary energy. But, the most brilliant aspect is the screens are translucent as in see thru as in it’s still a beautiful day and you can see it.
There are a plethora of solar screens on the market and as with any purchase for your home do your homework. For commercial use solar screens can save equipment that can be light sensitive like computers and a cooler work environment is more conducive
to a productive and positive work atmosphere. Since commercial applications can have some restrictions do some research; if you lease space in a large multi story building check with other tenants to see what they have done or perhaps combine resources, and ask for an inclusive bid from one supplier or perhaps the owner will cover the cost for you, although this is not likely. Solar screens are a great way to still enjoy the sun without the hassle
